Withing this experiment Newtons Laws are being applied.
Newton's First Law:
An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. |
This law is shown when the bird is at rest in the beginning before being launched:
Another way that Newtons First law is being applied in this game is when the pig is at rest and the bird doesn't touch him (or when you miss your shot):
Newton's Second Law:
Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass (of the object being accelerated) the greater the amount of force needed (to accelerate the object). |
Newtons second law is shown in two different ways:
First when you stretch the sling further back it shows that your are going to have a greater affect on your hit.
The second way its being shown is when you don't pull as further on the sling you wont have an bigger impact on your hit.
The different ways you place your shot depends on how much force it would be applied as we can see the difference in these two picture.
Newtons Third Law:
For every action there is an equal and
opposite re-action.
This law is shown when the bird is released from the slingshot. Action we pull back on the slingshot the reaction is that the bird is going to fly out.
